Michael J. Day, LL.B.   -   Barrister & Solicitor

Michael J. Day - LLB Michael Day attended University of Toronto for two years and then enrolled at the Faculty of Law at the University of Windsor and graduated with his degree in law in 1978.  Michael has attended numerous Continuing Legal Education programs sponsored by The Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association and Osgoode Law School and has taught law at Sheridan College in their adult education program.  He founded a legal clinic for students at the University of Toronto (Erindale College) in Mississauga and he has represented as an agent The Ministry of the Attorney General and the Ministry of Community and Social Services in litigation matters.  He has appeared in all levels of courts in Ontario including the Ontario Court of Appeal and has been counsel in over a 1,000 contested trials and motions in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Commercial List in Toronto and appeals at the Ontario Court of Appeal.  His preferred area of practice is business, real estate law and complex family matters.  He has developed a broad understanding of business needs and the challenges facing new and established businesses. He is able to provide practical advice in most situations to his clients given his broad professional and business experience.  He has appeared before many administrative tribunals, representing professionals and individuals alike.  His courtroom experience is a valuable asset in providing corporate advice and drafting complex commercial and business agreements.  He has mentored and provided articles to a number of junior lawyers over the years and he has addressed the Senate House Committee in Ottawa on important matters of legislation.  Michael is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and The Peel Law Association.  He has been a member of the Area Committee for The Ontario Legal Aid Plan which is a statutory appeal tribunal for matters of legal aid.  Michael also has had experience on the Ethics Committee of a local hospital in Mississauga and is a director on a number of private Corporations.  He was awarded the McCarthy & McCarthy Award and the University of Windsor Award for academics in law school.  Michael is married, has three children and seven grandchildren, and in his spare time he enjoys golf, boating and reading.

David J. Borg, BBA (Hons), JD   -   Barrister & Solicitor

David J. Borg - BAA (Hons), JD David Borg graduated with distinction from Bond University in Queensland, Australia where he completed his Juris Doctor degree.  He is also a graduate from Wilfrid Laurier University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration (Hons).  David completed his articles with the firm before he was called to the Bar of the Law Society of Upper Canada in 2011.  He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Peel Law Association. David’s area of practice focuses on matrimonial and family matters; however, he is also very involved in the real estate and estate portions of the practice.  David has negotiated successfully complex family files and when necessary he has appeared and advocated effectively in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Justice, and private arbitrations.  David has attended numerous continuing education programs to keep current on his skills.  He is married and has two children. In his spare time, David enjoys spending time with his family, golf, and running.

Sanitha M. Miranda, B.A. (Hons), LL.B   -   Barrister & Solicitor

Sanitha M. Miranda - LLB Sanitha Miranda graduated with honours from the University of Manchester, School of Law.  She holds an Honours B.A. with High Distinction in Political Science and History from the University of Toronto.  At law school, Sanitha was a volunteer caseworker at the Legal Advice Clinic and also worked at Countrywide Property Lawyers, the largest Property law firm in England and Wales.  Prior to joining our firm, she worked as a constituency assistant for a Member of Parliament.  Sanitha was called to the Bar in September 2014 after completing her articles at Day+Borg LLP.  Her primary areas of practice are corporate-commercial, real estate and estate planning.  Sanitha enjoys movies, travelling and spending time with friends and family.

Phillip O. Kuye, B.A., JD   -   Barrister & Solicitor

Phillip Kuye Phillip completed his articles with our firm before he was called to the Bar of the Law Society of Upper Canada in January, 2018.  He graduated from the University of Miami School of Law, where he completed his Juris Doctor degree.   Phillip is a Florida licensed attorney, and can assist with Florida state law matters, United States Federal law matters, and cross-border real estate transactions in the state of Florida.  At law school, Phillip was a member and Sponsorship Chair of the University of Miami Entertainment and Sports Law Society, and interned with the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League.  Prior to joining the firm, Phillip worked with many YouTube content creators in the Toronto area with respect to intellectual property protection and business formation.  As an articling student, he was exposed to all aspects of the practice, and has worked on files in the areas of corporate law, wills & estates, real estate, civil litigation, family law, and commercial transactions.  Phillip is an avid sports fan, and enjoys traveling and spending time with his family.

Frank M. Pinizzotto, B.A. (Hons), LL.B, LL.M   -   Articling Student

Frank Pinizzotto Frank Pinizzotto joined Day + Borg LLP as an articling student in January 2018 and has attended law school in both Canada and in the United Kingdom.  In 2016, he graduated with a Masters in Canadian Common Law from Osgoode Hall Law School.  Prior to this, Frank obtained his LLB from the University of Southampton, graduating with an honours distinction.  Before joining Day + Borg LLP, Frank worked with a Toronto-based sole practitioner. Frank also holds an undergraduate degree from York University, where he obtained an Honours B.A. in Economics.  When away from the office, Frank enjoys fishing, fitness, and struggling to cope with his disastrous golf swing.

Mona Cederberg, B.A.A,    -   Senior Law Clerk/Office Manager

Mona Cederberg B.A.A. Mona Cederberg has been with the office since its inception.  She has a Bachelor of Applied Arts and has successfully completed the Law Clerk program offered through The Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario.  Over the years, Mona has attended many continuing legal education programs presented by The Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association and the Ministry of the Attorney General (Ontario).  Mona handles all areas of practice with a focus on estates, business and corporate matters.  She is also involved with our matrimonial and civil litigation divisions of the practice.

Mona is also a Commissioner for Taking Affidavits

Sherry Myers    -   Estate Planning Law Clerk

Sherry Stuckey Sherry Myers is a graduate of the Law Clerk program at Humber College.  She completed the co-op portion of the program with our office and upon graduation, joined our firm on a full-time basis in May 2006.  She is here to answer your inquiries relating to the drafting and preparing of Last Wills and Testaments and Powers of Attorney.  As well, Sherry provides direct assistance to Mona Cederberg and Sanitha Miranda.

Melissa Ball    -   Real Estate Clerk

Melissa Ball Melissa Ball joined our firm in December, 2007 as a Real Estate Clerk.  She has over 15 years of solid real estate experience and is a graduate of the Law Clerk program at Niagara College.  Melissa will be able to provide you with direction respecting your transaction, and can assist you with all of your real estate inquiries.

Melissa BallSheri started with Day + Borg LLP in August, 2017.  Sheri has a strong legal background consisting of 30 years of experience.  She has completed real estate seminars through the Law Society of Upper Canada and Teranet.  Sheri will also be able to assist you with all of your real estate inquiries and provide direction when and where required.

Karen Stuckey Karen joined our office in April, 2007.  Karen’s primary focus is real estate and she is knowledgeable in all areas, including purchases, sales and mortgages.  She will be able to provide assistance and information with respect to current transactions as well as answer your questions as a new real estate client or if you are inquiring about a closed transaction.

Yasmin McCarraher Yasmin McCarraher joined our firm in November of 2011 as our office administrator. She came to our firm with many years of experience in administrative duties including service in a court room environment and an Examiner’s Office.  Yasmin also assists our real estate department and will be happy to provide you with a quote as well as answer all of your preliminary inquiries.  Yasmin will be your first contact with the office and will direct your calls to the appropriate person, answer preliminary inquiries as well as schedule appointments.
